The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved Promulgation of the Daman and Diu Civil Courts (Amendment) Regulation, 2019 and the Dadra and Nagar Haveli (Civil Courts and Miscellaneous Provisions)Amendment Regulation, 2019 under Article 240 of the Constitution. Benefits:  The move will be helpful in bringing uniformity in Judicial Service. It will also help overcome the difficulties being faced by the litigants in travelling to Mumbai for filing appeals due to existing limited pecuniary jurisdiction. Enhanced pecuniary jurisdiction will accelerate the justice delivery system, besides making access easier for litigants without having to travel outside the Union Territory. The London Patient - second person to be cured from HIV

      A male resident of the UK who prefers to remain anonymous, was diagnosed with HIV infection in 2003 and began antiretroviral therapy in 2012. Later, he was diagnosed with advanced Hodgkin's lymphoma. After chemotherapy, he underwent a stem cell transplant in 2016 and subsequently remained on antiretroviral therapy for 16 months.       To test whether he was truly in HIV-1 remission, the London patient disrupted his usual antiretroviral therapy. He has now been in remission for 18 months, and regular testing has confirmed that his HIV viral load remains undetectable.        Similarly, Timothy Ray Brown, the  Berlin Patient , had been living with HIV and routinely using antiretroviral therapy when he was diagnosed with a different disease, acute myeloid leukemia. RTE ACT: No detention policy and its ill effects

Right To Education (RTE) Act 2009 was passed to give enactment to the Constitution 86th amendment Act 2002 which made the right to education (Article 21A) a fundamental right to children from 6 years to 14 years. RTE ACT provides for: # Free education in government schools for children in age group 6-14. # No detention policy till Class 8 (which is removed recently by an amendment # 25% seats reserved for disadvantaged or economically weaker sections of the society in all   schools. # Minimum infrastructure , minimum teacher qualification # pupil-teacher ratio ie., Students to teacher ratio. No detention policy:     when the RTE Act was passed in 2009 it had section 16 which stated that “No child can be held back or expelled from the school till he completes elementary education”.  This is the section which provided for the “No Detention policy” till class 8.
